Red River Raceway

The track is built on over 200 acres of land and located 23 miles north of Shreveport on Highway 71, in Gilliam, Louisiana. The facility houses a 1/4 mile long racing surface with approximately 1/2 mile of shut down area. Smooth and level, the concrete and asphalt track will accommodate dragsters capable of speeds exceeding 315 miles per hour. The track was built in 1998. The elevation is 192.5 feet above sea level.
.: Bleacher style seats for 7,500 have been constructed with plans for several more in the future. There is a three story timing tower with several suites. There are concession stands, a souvenir shop and fully functional restrooms.
.: Red River Raceway is open to NHRA members, as well as the general public who want to race their vehicles in a safe and exciting environment. There is a class for every vehicle, as well as bikes. You must undergo a safety inspection before being allowed to race.
.: In addition to a full compliment of emergency teams available at every race, the track itself has a number of safety features in the design. With 1/2 mile of shut down area that incorporates a sand trap, the track has plenty of room to handle top fuel cars as well as any emergency situations that might arise. Concrete retaining walls line both sides of the track going above and beyond current safety requirements. Safety is a top concern and every precaution is taken to ensure that the track is not only fun, but safe.
.: Ken and Molly Hall have been in the drag racing business over 25 years. They have owned and operated several tracks. They are very knowledgeable about the racing and business end of drag racing. Along with their grandson, Adam Attaway, the Halls began operating Red River Raceway in June 2004. They are both members of the NHRA Hall of Fame. They have earned the respect of the drag racing community and will continue to do so. They have great plans for the future of Red River Raceway and invite everyone to come race or visit.
