With the good news that there is a buyer for Red River Raceway I was thinking that we could keep our series going for 2009. I would like to finish 2008 year with the last points race to crown a champion for 2008, as the track shut down before the last race. We could just use the points from the opening event to finish 2008 and start the 2009 series. What would y'all think about that? I have a few idea's and I'm sure y'all do also to make this series work better. Last year at the start Chris and I wasted alot of energy with the try at a Heads Up class. I am not going to do that this year, I will stay focused on Bracket Racing. This is not to say that we don't want a Heads Up Class, if we get enough cars to field one we will. I would also like to add that as soon as I find out when the new owners will be open for a meeting I will post that and maybe some of y'all would like to go. I will make every meeting with the track that I can to let them know that EFI Racing will support the track in every way we can.

If the new owners dont do it, I was thinking of a street class scheduled once a month. Basically a Street King Shootout, but with classes (ie 10's, 11's, 12's, and so on) in a heads up match for each class with breakouts faster than your class losing. Almost like organized street racing. With a trophy or plaque per class labeled for that month. Rules would be simple. Car must be registered, have insurance, inspection sticker (if applicable). Street tires (DR's ok) and of course any safety equipment the track requires you to have. Thats pretty simple and I would think the turnout would be better cause everyone knows things are different on street tires and a 14sec guy doesnt have the fear of wasting money racing 12sec guys. Did I mention bragging rights also. This is just a suggestion by the way and how I would like it to be if I were to race in a class like this.

We need to see what kind of racing the new owners want before we try to do anything. I got some more details about the new guy but I won't post anything about it yet. I will say the new owner is not Pat Jofferion that owns NPR and if everything I was told today is true, RR will be a totally different place. This guy is spending the $$$ on the place.

That's what I was thinking Chris, that we need to sit down with the new management and see what the plans are and what we can do to support the track.

I think what Rick is saying is Ray White the owner of Royal Purple Racing Oils is the new owner of Thunder Road Dragway (RRR). Tom Brown will be the track Manager and they are doing alot of work on the track surface, stands, tower, restrooms, and concession area.

Guess I'll need to get me some Royal Purple stickers for the car. Couldn't hurt to kiss a little ass.

I don't have any stickers, but I have used nothing but Royal Purple in the vert with no complains. Hey Phil I bet we can get some real soon at Thunder Road Dragway.
